Bali which is also known as Pulau Dewata or the island of God possesses some unique facts, as well as beautiful scenery and unique customs. Balinese people often believe what they believe. Although sometimes other people may consider the things as unusual, but due to this belief Bali could withstand the rapidly changing modernization. Below are 5 unique things about Bali.

1. Balinese women are generally very faithful to her spouse, even when they are required to change their religion/belief in order to follow their husband religion. This is due to a very strong paternalistic system. After the marriage, Balinese women are closely bound with her husband as well as assisting the husband to play his role in the family. Technically, they no longer have any obligation or necessity to be involved in their family anymore.

2. The people of Bali rarely committing crime such as stealing, burglary, etc. Balinese people believe by committing a crime they will put a shame on their self as well as to their family. They also believe in Karma, if they commit any crime, they believe that they will have to pay for the consequences soon or later.

3. Divorce and polygamy cases in Bali are very low. This is due to the fact that Balinese people have to go through series of ceremonies before they are finally pronounced husband and wife. Almost the same amount of ceremony is required if they decided to get divorce. The same thing applies if one to get married for the second time. Normally, the family does not want to held two wedding ceremony for the same person.
 
4. Caste system (Shudra, Vaishya, noble, Brahmin) in Bali is currently considered more on the level of the people roles and function in the community rather than based on people’s descendant. Although people comes from the lowest caste or Shudra, but if this people can be a good leader in the community then his level or appreciation in the community will increase automatically.

5. Balinese people will have flower plantation in their yard, especially frangipani. Flower plantation is very essential for Balinese to perform their religious ritual as well as other elements.
