8 Place to Visit in Jembrana - Bali

  1. Sangkaragung Village
    The village is located in sub regent of Negara. It located approximately 5 km to the east of Negara. Sangkaragung, is the center of Jembrana’s original musical instrument "Jegog". Sangkaragung gained its world status as it performs three times annually in Japan. While the village itself Jegog Sangkaragung staged for tourists every Sunday and Thursday at Studio Jegog Suar Agung. Tourist can learn to play jegog in this studio.

  1. West Bali National Park
    West Bali National Park as a nature conservation area which can be used for educational purposes, research, recreation and support the cultivation. The main characteristic of West Bali National Park is the presence of Bali starlings (Leucopsar rothschildi) that can live in the wild and can only be found in the West Bali National Park. Administratively, West Bali National Park Located in the district of Jembrana and Buleleng.
    Flora
    Some type of vegetation is mangrove forest dominated by mangrove plant(Rhizophora sp), savanna is dominated by papyrus plant (Borassus flabelier), Rainforest, monsoon forest dominated by acacia plants (Acasia leucophloea)
    Fauna
    Some wildlife can be observed in the West Bali National Park such as Bali starling (leucospar rothschildi), bull(Bos javanicus), deer (Muntiacus muntjak), the Java mouse-deer (Tragulus javanicus), Javan rusa(Cervus timorensis), Forest Cat (Felis bengalensis), gray monkey (Macaca fascicularis), black Monkey (Presbytis Criscata), white starling (Stunus melanopterus), the yellow-vented bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier), black-naped-orioles (Oriolus chinensis) Kingfisher(Halcyon Chloris).

  1. Bunut Bolong
    Bunung Bolong is located in the village of Manggisari Pekutatan , approximately, 49 km to the east of Negara, capital of Jembrana Regency, or around 86 km towards the west of Denpasar. Bunut Bolong is a banyan tree that grows in the middle of the road and its roots stand at either sides of the road forming a cave entrance like shape. The road connects Pekutatan area with Buleleng regency. All vehicles must go under the trees. The area is also suitable for forest tourism.

  1. Medewi BeachMedewi  Beach is a beautiful curvy beach located in Medewi village. It is approximately 24 Km east of Negara and approximately 72 Km west of Denpasar. Medewi beach is suitable for surfing because its s long and lengthy waves. From here can enjoy the beautiful sunset. The accommodation facilities around the beach are suitable for foreign tourists as well as its restaurant.

  1. Rambut Siwi Temple
    Rambut Siwi located approximately 18 Km east of Negara or 78 km to the west from of Denpasar. Rambut Siwi temple has a strong connection with the arrival of a priest from Majapahit Kingdom in East Java who performed religious trip to Bali. From this place we can also enjoy views of sea and sunset fields and distant mountain views.

  1. Palasari Reservoir
    This tourist attraction site is located at Palasari Ekasari, Melaya, 26 km west Negara. This reservoir serves as flood control, irrigation, fisheries and recreation. The site also suitable for water tourism, it is also equipped with recreational canoes.

  1. Gilimanuk
    Gilimanuk located on the western tip of the island of Bali is the gateway to the entry of tourists coming by road from the island of Java. There are several places of interest include: Bay Gilimanuk which is perfect for enjoying water sport and West Bali National Park. Tourist could also find cheap accommodation, restaurant and souvenirs shop.

  1. Museum of Ancient Man
    Since 1963, archaeologists: Prof Dr R Soejono and Prof. DR T Jacub conducted research in Indonesia including Gilimanuk.  They found hundreds of human skeleton which are estimated to live in the late prehistoric period to the characteristic of Mongoloid races. To utilise the finding the Government of Jembrana build museum which was completed in 1993. Collection on display at the museum including human skeleton, beads, and bracelets made of woods, jars, jugs, sarcophagus etc.
